Metal Jig - with hook 1.6g (1.6-gram micro metal jigs)
Key Characteristics & Best Uses
- Target Species: Excellent for targeting species that feed on micro-prey, such as Aji (horse mackerel), scad, small trevally, perch, and trout.
- Rigging Style: They come equipped with a single assist hook connected via a solid split ring, which minimizes snags in heavy cover while improving hookup ratios on small-mouthed fish.
- Action: Because of their featherlight 1.6g profile, they offer a very slow, enticing flutter on the drop
Recommended Tackle Setup
To cast and fish these tiny 1.6g jigs effectively, you need a dedicated finesse system:
- Rod: Ultra-Light (UL) rated rod with a sensitive solid or tubular tip, capable of throwing lures down to 0.5g–3g.
- Line: Super thin PE braided line (PE 0.1 to PE 0.3) paired with a light fluorocarbon leader (2 lb to 4 lb test) to maximize casting distance and preserve the lure's natural falling motion.
